Encountered my first case a ignorance towards asexuality

During a conversation about gay marriage of all things. During the tired argument that gay marriage isn’t right simply because they can’t have children biologically - which is a really stupid argument for reasons that I’m sure you’re all able to figure out for yourselves. I like to think that the fact that I’m a cisgendered, asexual woman is something of a trump card in situations such as this; after all, I don’t plan on having children (in fact, the idea terrifies me for any number of reasons) and regard marriage as something that is sacred only in the sense that it should be for love (which is why I don’t necessarily agree with shotgun marriages but that’s another discussion). Though my opponent in this discussion decided that asexual meant having no biological sex. And that’s one I honestly haven’t heard before. And it’s unfortunate that this girl was clearly coming from a wilfully ignorant perspective. It’s people like her that tarnish the reputation of Christians. Being atheistic doesn’t mean I hate religion and the religious, I just hate what it turns some people into.

So this autistic, cisgendered, heteroromantic, asexual woman supports gay marriage. Try to take me on, I dare you.
